![]() Key Fashion Trends for Spring Summer '08With Winter '07 fading fast it's time to look forward to longer, warmer days. So it's time to clear out the dull Winter shades and revitalise your wardrobe with this seasons new looks and styles. We've taken the best looks from the catwalks and brought them here for you so you can stay at the forefront of fashion this year. |
Whether your after black with some white, white with
some black or an even mix of black and white then this seasons monochrome look is just for you. Monochrome prints, spots, star and especially striped patterns will ensure you achieve that perfect timeless chic look. To update last seasons look try combinging a monochrome top with black jeans, trousers or leggings. |
Metallics are still big news this summer but unlike
last years full-on bling its toned down and is more subtle. Think
combining a shimmering top with faded jeans, swishy skirt or cropped leggings. The metallic look doesn't stop with clothes, think handbags and accessories too. Liven up a plain top with contrasting metallic clutch or some shiny jewellery. Ensure you cause a storm on the beach with a daring metallic on piece cut out swimsuit of bikini, silver will standout but gold will give you an air of sophistication and class. |
Create the right
impression in the office with some sharp tailoring. There are only a
few rules, keep trousers and skirts high waisted and the belt more subtle
then last years oversized ones. Spring suiting follows a softly structured line. As always a great cut is important, keep trousers slim and tapered with tighter fitting blouses or jackets but a wider leg will suit a more relaxed jacket. Which ever style you choose maximise with some high heels; its about look smart and not too masculine. |
Spring sees a welcome to floaty fabrics, prints and
folky details – boho chic is back, but this time with added polish. Tiered
skirts to smock tops are given a new lease of life with luxuruous fabrics.
Bring some seventies flair back into your life with embroidery and swirling prints. For maximum effect, layering is the way to go. Take the floral look from the high stree to the beach with this seasons bold floral bikinis and swimsuits. Or update your plain swimsuit with a vibrant kaftan or beach skirt. |
![]() The skirt of this
Summer is the 'swishy skirt'. Choose a short yet strong design with
a defined waist line and high cut hem. Light materials like silk and
chiffon flow effortlessly when layered and pleated and are perfect for
summer days. Easy gathered dirndl skirts that swish and swing, or full skirts consisting solely of tiered ruffles add volume. If you have the waist for it choose a shortened summery top to flaunt your assist. But whatever you do keep it sassy and flowing long into the night. |
Blow away the cobwebs of those gloomy days and drab
greys and blacks with some bright bold colours. Add a much deserved
splash of colour to your wardrobe! It doesn't have to be too bright, although if you've got what it takes your sure not to be missed in the high street, the beach or the bedroom. If too bright is not your thing then perhaps something lighter in a fashionable pastel colour? Perfect for the transition, between the muted darkness of Winter and the full-blown vibrancy of Summer. Add over faded jeans for a more subdued, yet colourful look. |
Silk, so soft, so luxurious, so light, so
Summer! Ensure you have at least one quality mini dress this season
for those summer parties and nights out. Just two rules... It must
be short and it must be silk. Choose either a solid colour or be more adventurous and go for semi-sheer translucent silk for a dress that you won't even notice your wearing as its so light, airy and free flowing. |
